Events at the Cinema
October 10: Movie & Crafts
Get comfy in the Cinema's plush stadium seats, grab your snacks, and get crafting! We'll be watching A League of Their Own with the lights on at 7pm. Don't have a craft to bring? Great! Come at 6:30 to learn how to make friendship bracelets from Claire and Maria Solberg. If you haven't made one in years, or have never made one, they are the perfect craft for a movie since they are fun, quick, and don't require your full attention. We'll also have a few coloring kits and knitting and crocheting kits available. Movie tickets are $2. Friendship bracelet class and supplies and other craft kits are available for free. Donations accepted.
October 24: An Invitation to Wonder: Waubesa Wetlands
Local filmmaker, Lance (Moss) Hegge is bringing this fascinating documentary about the Waubesa Wetlands near Madison to the Cinema! A beautiful movie to watch on the big screen, the film tells the story of a vibrant natural area and the neighborhood driven to steward it. The film will begin at 6pm with Q&A with Lance and the other filmmakers to follow. Enjoy our own wonderful natural area before heading to the Cinema. Join local naturalist Rhan Flatin for an all ages stroll on the Norwegian Birding Trail. Whether you walk the trail all the time, or you've never explored it, it will be a wonderful guided experience on the trail. Meet on the liquor store side of the Red's parking lot at 4:45. Free will donation. Join us for both parts or just one!
October 31: Halloween for All
Head to the Cinema right after school for a $2 showing of Coraline and a walk through the Haunted Lobby from the spooky minds of Mrs. Miller's class. Stick your hands in bowls of eyeballs, tubs of intestines and more! The Haunted Lobby will remain open until the 7pm showing of Cabin in the Woods. Come watch this horror movie with us. Maybe the company makes it less scary?
